PROFESSIONAL GROWTH

Like all senior members in Civil Air Patrol, chaplains and MLO's show growth in their professional competence. 

Chaplains must complete CAPP 221, "The CAP Chaplain", to be promoted above the rank of their initial appointment. 

The must complete CAPP 221A "Chaplains helping Chaplains", to be appointed to a Wing or higher level.

In addition, Chaplains/MLO's attend Chaplain Region Staff College, take part in SAR/DR exercises and missions, build emergency services ministry skills, and take special courses in increase their ability to serve unit members.

All MLO's take the specialty track course 225 to increase their levels of ministry and outreach to unit members.
