On May 22, 2004 Ch. (LtC) Sammy Campos went to be with the Lord following an illness of 5 years.  Sammy was the CAWG Chaplain Emeritus at the time of his passing.  Appointed as a CAP Chaplain in1983, Sammy served as a Squadron, Group, Dep. Wing and Wing Chaplain during his years of faithful service.  In each role, Sammy had a tremendous impact and influence on the lives of those he came in contact with.  Many of those currently serving in the CAWG Chaplain Service were mentored by Sammy.  His model and philosophy of Chaplain ministry is prevalent throughout the CAWG Chaplain Service.  Cadet Encampment was one of Sammy’s primary ministries.  So many of our cadets and seniors benefited from the ministry of presence that Sammy provided.  His wit and wisdom will be missed as well as his service performed in a true spirit of humility.
