Biography -MLO Nancy Woodard

Captain  Nancy L. Woodard joined Civil Air Patrol because she recognized a need. Noting that there was a shortage of Moral Leadership Officers, she volunteered to fill the gap.

Nancy received her appointment and commission at the Region Chaplain Service Staff College in 2000 and quickly set out to hone her skills. Capt. Woodard rapidly completed the requirements to obtain the Technician rating and demonstrated a proficiency in conducting the moral leadership sessions in two squadrons. Within a year she completed the 225 training track for Moral Leadership Officers, obtaining the Master rating at the Region Chaplain Service Staff College in 2001. She demonstrated her dedication by agreeing to provide moral leadership for other units with no chaplain or MLO assigned.

Capt.. Woodard is a talented teacher and musician. In her capacity as a school teacher, she has sought opportunities to promote the CAP cadet program to her students and educational groups. She contributed to the success of the Chaplain Service Staff College by playing for the devotional services and providing special music. Nancy is actively pursuing the senior training requirements. She is registered for SLS; is studying the ECI-13 Senior Officer Training course and taking the Mission Scanner course. Capt. Woodard has participated in two Region Chaplain Service Staff Colleges and attended a Pacific Region Conference. Her willingness to seek excellency in service is a model of professionalism that brings credit to Civil Air Patrol.
