Cadet Program
We are very proud of our Cadet Program at Squadron 64.
Designed as a leadership and Aerospace training program for the young
people in Junior High, High School and College. Our Cadets learn about
self discipline, problem solving, goal setting teamwork, motivation
and successful personal interaction. At the same time they are finding
out about the wonders of our Aerospace world while participating in
many interesting, exciting and challenging activities.
CAP uses the Air Force training model as a means of helping
Cadets to find the confidence, skills and ability that will lead them
to a successful adulthood. The program provides opportunities for flying
in both powered aircraft and sailplanes (gliders) as well as occasional
exposure to Military Aircraft. We also provide training in survival,
emergency services (search and rescue), and many other areas. Cadets
may take part in Model Rocketry, Marksmanship, Color Guard and many
other optional activities. These serve as effective alternatives to
gangs, drugs and school violence.
Most activities take place on weekends but there are also
opportunities to attend extended training programs during the summer
months.
Many cadets go on the highly successful futures including
college scholarships, military academies and many other productive careers.
