Moral Leadership
CAP provides training in ethics to our members, as well as the standard leadership training that is better known. The objective is to balance the developing skills and abilities in motivating others with knowledge in the "whys" of good leadership. Our Chaplains and Moral Leadership Officers provide guidance and programs that assist our Cadets in developing a strong ethical base in their character. This is a secular program that is built around the fundamentals of right and wrong and the contents of the "Cadet Honor Code":
Squadron 64 is privileged to have two highly qualified Chaplains who provide
a very successful program for both our Cadets and Senior Officers. Although
the more well known portion of their duties revolve around the Cadets,
they also provide support and counseling to all members, when needed.
Chaplains in CAP must meet the same credentialing standards as regular
Air Force Chaplains and are graduate ministers. Our ranking Chaplain,
LTC Howard Payne, has served with Squadron 64 for over 10 years and concentrates
on Senior Program support. In 2005, Chaplain, Major Mike McKinney
jis now serving as the Squadron Chaplain. He has been with CAP for
5 years.. Squadron 64 also has three Moral Leadership
Officers who all participate in the program.
